Medlar Nottingham

This is the most popular and best flavoured variety of medlar. An attractive small tree with a semi-weeping habit. Large white flowers in the spring followed by russety rose-hip type fruits and magnificent orange-red autumn leaf colour. The fruits should be stored for several weeks and eaten after the texture has gone soft, at which stage they develop a lovely caramel-like flavour.
